People. You don’t have to tip your waitress an outrageous amount of money.

I was reading this post on Twitter, and I have some thoughts.

First of all, you don’t ever have to tip.

Tipping to me is just something I do, out of acknowledgement for the service that I get. I have a fine motor deficit, and I require assistance. The fact is that a lot of these young waitresses think of this as an extra service, that they don’t have to do this, and act like it is.

But it’s not, management is garbage. I’m sick of having to explain how I am disabled, because I have a closed head injury. So you don’t see the damage to my brain, and a lot of people don’t understand this.

I am not saying that I get bad service, and I am not saying that I shouldn’t tip because they don’t do anything more than the bar minimum. I am just saying that I don’t believe that anyone deserves a tip more than 20% unless there is a specific reason.

These above reasons are not valid argument as to why you shouldn’t tip. Waiters and waitresses are not managers, involved in the procurement of the food and its ingredients, they are not the chef or cook and they aren’t farmers or distributors. Hencw, they shouldn’t have to inspect the food.

The quality of the food is in theory checked along the route from the farm to the table.

This is just something that I thought I would share, this guy is obviously ignorant in the sense that he wants the waiter to do everything before he tips but doesn’t ask if the server (trying to be gender inclusive) what their salary is, or wage.

I get you have to be mean to survive is this world, but I am pretty sure that comes with stipulations. If the server is going above and beyond to treat you well, you should at least tip the taxes.

Or stay the fuck home and cook for yourself. If the server or the restaurant ask for outrageous tips (especially if you’re paying by debit/credit) you can just not, or hit the tip other. If you are unhappy with the pay, change professions.
